Pharmacy Technician: Practice Certificate Program
This program is intended to review the essential aspects of the practice of pharmacy for anyone desiring to enter the field of pharmacy and or technicians who are preparing to take the National Certification Examination to become a certified Pharmacy Technician. The course will cover the common practices of the Pharmacists as well as the Technicians in the environments of the retail as well as hospital pharmacy environment. Aspects such as historical considerations, legal aspects, common daily activities relating to prescription interpretation and reading, computerized order entry, prescription processing, packaging and compounding sterile and non-sterile products are taught. Common work responsibilities are covered and as well as strong focus on customer service functions. The program covers a simple review of drug categories and pharmaceutical calculations but requires students to devote time at home to read pertinent subject material in preparation for the PTCB examination. A program completion certificate will be issued to students passing the final examination of the program. Textbook (Mizner’s Review) not included in cost of tuition.
